One of those friends, Ambassador Leonard Firestone, gave her the encouragement she needed to get her dream off the ground. In 1982, they founded the not-for-profit center located in the California town of Rancho Mirage.

Although the initial thoughts of Ms. Ford were to create a treatment center for women, the center bearing her name actually treats both women and men who are suffering with addiction and/or dependency.

Vacation Homes For Sale On Norris Lake

Author + June 24th, 2008 + no replies

If you are looking for lakefront property, you need to check out the homes for sale on Norris Lake. Norris Lake is located between the Cumberland Mountains and the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in eastern Tennessee. It is a man-made reservoir created by the construction of Norris Dam in 1936 by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The dam impounded the Clinch and Powell Rivers to create over 34,000 acres of a beautiful pristine lake. Although the primary purposes of the reservoir are flood control and power production, Norris Lake has become the region’s most visited recreational body of water.

The deep water, natural shorelines and stunning mountain views have made the area a hot spot for real estate. Although once a relatively uninhabited area, Norris Lake now hosts many resorts, marinas, cabins, condos and multi-million dollar homes. Despite the rising real estate development, most of the shorelines remain untouched with many miles being protected as a wildlife refuge. Whether you are looking for a quiet place to retire or a nice vacation home, you may want to invest in one of the homes for sale on Norris Lake.

All-Inclusive Vacation

Author + June 18th, 2008 + no replies

An all-inclusive vacation is when you are paying a set price to get a “package” deal for your vacation. This means that things like meals are included in the purchase price. Is this a savings? Well sometimes it can be but truthfully it usually isn’t. I have found that you can get stuck paying for a lot that you will not even have time to do on your vacation. I would suggest looking at what you want to do on the vacation, and pricing those things separately before going the all-inclusive route.

Water Pollution

Author + June 12th, 2008 + no replies

Water pollution has always been a major problem to the environment. With industrialization in major areas and urban cities growing the water around them just keeps getting polluted. The sad part about the whole ordeal is that water pollution can be prevented in a lot of cases.
A lot of water pollution is caused by factories near rivers and lakes doing illegal dumping. This hurts wildlife because the pollution will flow down the river hurting plants and animals. In some cases it can be fatal.
Another big form of water pollution comes from fisherman and yacht owners. People who are just out to enjoy the sun will throw their waste overboard or have a leaky engine. A lot of them don’t care because it doesn’t usually directly effect how their day is going to turn out.

Succeed in Owning an RV Park

Author + June 12th, 2008 + no replies

How can you expect to succeed in owning an RV park? First of all, you must realize that it is not your typical commercial real estate investment. It is more about adopting a particular lifestyle than it is sticking to a definite business plan. Many owners live at the park to watch over it. While this may not be for you, it’s best if you can spend some time there. In this business, the best form of advertising is through word-of-mouth. RVers love to socialize. When they pull into camp, the first thing they’ll do is get out and meet the people around them. If the owner of the RV park is friendly and accommodating, the patrons will be happy.

Global Warming

Author + June 11th, 2008 + no replies

Global warming is like heart attacks. There are thousands of elements which potentially could contribute to global warming, there are thousands of environmental and climactic events which could be affected or worsened by global warming, but we’re not at all sure which ones and what their relative importance is; we’re not even sure we’ve looked at all the potential factors and variables.
The world is being warned of hunger and thirst for millions due to global warming. The continuous emission of gases such as carbon dioxide and methane has become worse, the situation especially in the recent years. Global warming has triggered climate change in all parts of the world, most apparent of which is the warming of the polar zones which has flushed water from the melted ice to the oceans, disrupting the ecology and the affecting the lifestyle of millions of people.

There’s also some nightlife but not quite as over the top as Pattaya, making Hua Hin suitable for families and travelers in general. And it’s ideal for those who don’t want to make the long (and expensive) journey to Phukey or Koh Samui.

Hellenistic Art

Author + June 4th, 2008 + no replies

Hellenistic Art
(323 - 31 BC), quite like Mannerism, went a wee bit over the top. By the time Alexander had died, and things got disorganized in Greece as his kingdom broke apart, Greek sculptors had mastered carving marble. They were so technically just right, that they began sculpt impossibly heroic humans. People simply do not look as faultlessly symmetrical or beautiful in real life, as those sculptures - which may give explanation why the sculptures remain so popular after all this existence.
