Natural Weight Loss Plan

Author + January 28th, 2010 + no replies

Weight loss is a matter of simple math: Weight Loss = Calories Burned vs Calories Consumed. Big advertisers try to complicate this simple formula with complex “fat free” diets and programs. Yes, there are exceptions, those of us who can overeat and not gain weight. Most of us need to apply this simple formula. In order to use this formula successfully, you must keep both a dietary journal and a workout journal. Otherwise, you will be driving blindfolded. Lack of record keeping is the reason why 95% of dieters fail, in spite of following many of the Best Weight Loss Programs.

On the calorie half of the weight loss formula, changing your snacking habits can play a big role. Look at a couple weeks of your dietary journal. List the types and quantities of all the cookies, doughnuts, candies, french fries, and other poor quality foods. Next, begin replacing them with raw fruit, vegetables, or nuts. Snack on these frequently, every couple of hours between meals. You will accomplish two things: calorie reduction and higher energy levels.

On the physical activity half of the formula, you need to sweat. You need a sustained heart rate. You need commitment and consistency. I prefer weight training, because it can be used scientifically to reduce fat. Low weights with high reps will burn your fat and tone your muscles. You’ll look good and feel good about yourself. If you can swing the expense of a health club membership, I highly recommend one. They can help you keep accurate records and guide you in how to use the equipment to reach your goals.

By taking this two pronged approach, I am confident that you will achieve your goals in the least amount of time. Think long term. Accept the fact that you will lose a few battles. You will break your diet or miss workout days. Stay focused on winning the war, on making consistent progress. And the key to this progress will be found in your journals. Start you diet and exercise journals today, not tomorrow. For more info on healthy diets click: Healthy Diet Weight Loss.
