Low Glycemic Index Foods Category

Author + December 19th, 2008 + no replies

When planning your diet, you can roughly divide the gylcemic index table into three parts: low glycemic index foods (those that are less than 50 on the glycemic index table), intermediate glycemic index foods (those that are greater than 50 and less than 70 on the glycemic index table), and high glycemic index foods (all foods with a glycemic index or 70 or greater).

As an example, foods that fall into the low glycemic index foods category are foods such as artichoke, asparagus, avocado, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, eggplant, green beans, lettuce, low-fat yogurt, peanuts, dried apricots, whole wheat spaghetti, spaghetti, macaroni, and many, many more.
