The Antioxidant Multi Vitamin C
The quality of much of the land used to grow fruits, vegetables, and grains has been depleted from over planting. The lifestyle of many consumers keeps them so busy that most of their nutrients come from fast foods which tends to be lacking in antioxidants. Years of advertising by food companies have convinced millions of Americans to eat less healthy.
A UC Berkeley study in 2003 tested the antioxidant multi vitamin C. Researchers found that participants who took the 500 mg vitamin C supplements experienced a 25% drop in C-reactive protein (CRP) a protein that some researchers believe is more important than cholesterol levels as a predictor of hear disease. Measuring and charting C-reactive protein values has shown to be useful in determining the progress of many diseases and monitoring the effectiveness of various treatments. The interesting fact about this study was that it was a specific test of an antioxidant supplement - proving that supplements can have an effect on the body’s health and immune system.
