I really should have opened those letters from my lender and dealt with the problem sooner, but I didn’t, so I was about to lose my home to foreclosure and my family would be on the street. I knew I wouldn’t be able to avoid losing the home, but I also learned that a foreclosure on my record could mean that we’d have trouble renting another place to live.
