The US Department of Education Student Aid provides help paying student loans with the subsidized Stafford loan. It’s a federally sponsored loan program and is need based. This help in paying student loans is especially nice because the interest is paid by the federal government while the student is in school. This is a form of student loan forgiveness. The subsidized Stafford loan is not a credit based student loan and the rates are very good. The US Department of Education Student Aid provides both the subsidized and unsubsidized stafford loan. If the loan is unsubsidized the student is resposible for the interest while in school, but it is not needs based.
