The History of Scent and the Aroma
The original source of all scents and aromas and of all the ingredient used in the making of women’s perfumes is Ancient Egypt. At the beginning they were used in balms and ointments, as burning incenses, in religious rites or as medications.
Generally ointments were applied as a treatment in sickness and injury balms and later on beauty and cosmetics. Some of them were present in rituals and had an important role in the processes of clearance and purification. Others were applied for sexual motifs in different festivals and parties.
