Is an Internal Frame Backpack Right For You?
An external frame backpack’s frame is visible from the outside and has its distinct advantages. First, it’s practical in that you can easily hang some of your gear on the frame itself – lightweight shoes, a small sleeping bag, or perhaps cooking equipment. It is also preferred by novice travelers because it is cooler to wear. Because the frame keeps the bag away from the hiker’s back, moisture is allowed to circulate and the user won’t perspire as much. Second, it’s recommended for novice hikers because it’s less expensive and works well for those hiking on established trails.
